The History of
Langley Kyokushin Karate Dojo
The Langley Kyokushin Karate Dojo opened in September, 1993 in the Douglas Recreation Center,
Langley City, British Columbia, Canada.
It was opened by Leo Van den Boogaard (present head instructor) and Dean Bawtinheimer
(now the head instructor of the Coquitlam Kyokushin Karate

The dojo immediately entered into a great and long lasting partnership with the Langley City Parks and Recreation department; offering well priced, quality programs in the field of:
Children's Beginners karate; Children's Street smarts programs;
Women's self defense; Kickboxing along with our regular Karate program. The club has also taught many self
defense programs throughout the Langley School District.
The dojo has hosted many tournaments and demonstrations in the greater Langley community.
The Langley Kyokushin Karate club is a proud member club of the International Kyokushin Karate Organization
